Secretary General’s Welcome

It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to the first edition of the Global Model United Nations Conference. With the theme 'Restituere Planate' (Restore the Planet), this conference strives to inculcate the United Nations Sustainable Development into the vocabulary of the general public and to discuss solutions to issues that hinder its achievement. We witness humanity suffering from world hunger to widespread epidemics, from terrorism to pollution, diving into their destruction. The world we live in appears to be falling apart at the seams. The problems we face seem overwhelming. Our only hope for a better future is the youth. Henceforth the youth of International Internship University (IIIU) are organizing GLOBAL MODEL UNITED NATIONAL 2021, where we will be delving into some of the most prominent global issues, framing solutions to uproot them from our societies, and nurturing young minds to initiate required changes for our world, Above all, we hope that GMUNC IIU committees give you the opportunity to have fun and create opportunities to practice research, critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, negotiation and writing skills in a safe and structured environment on global environmental issues. It is no secret that Model UN is a rigorous activity, and the early morning networking sessions and hours of debate can be demanding. However, it gives us a platform to learn about the world, forge lasting friendships, and become more compassionate and understanding people. It is my honour and pleasure to invite you all to GMUNC IIU, a conference that you have never witnessed before. On the days of the conference, the students transcend to the status of world leaders, participating in scintillating debate, all the while making memories for a lifetime. IIU has always been enthusiastic about encouraging young minds to indulge in more than just their curriculums and try to expand their horizons. So, I eagerly await these days of enthralling debate and more importantly, of inspiring change.
Best Regards,
Krishna Sateesh
Secretary General
